Netball Australia has announced the appointment of Stacey Marinkovich as Head Coach and Rob Wright and Megan Anderson as Assistant Coaches of the Australian Fast5 Team for the Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne, this October.
Netball Australia’s Head of High Performance Andrew Collins said the appointment would provide an opportunity for the Suncorp Super Netball Coaches to test themselves at the helm of a national program.
“There are few openings in our national system, and Netball Australia is committed to providing opportunities for our Suncorp Super Netball Coaches to experience international competition where possible.
“Stacey, Rob and Megan understand the intricacies of netball’s high performance system and we believe they will be able to transition seamlessly into their roles leading the Fast5 program.
“We have been impressed by the environments they have built at West Coast Fever and the NSW Swifts, and the respect they command within the sport. They are well connected through the development pathway and have worked closely with many athletes being considered for selection,” explained Collins.
Hosted in Australia for the first-time last year, the Fast5 Netball World Series provides valuable international experience in a fast-paced, highly competitive setting.
“Our Fast5 program is an exciting arm of the Australian high performance program. We are confident that Stacey, Rob and Megan will deliver a great performance, complimenting each other with their skills and experiences.
The 2017 Fast5 Netball World Series will be held at Hisense Arena, Melbourne from 28-29 October. Fast5 is netball like you’ve never seen, featuring dynamic rules changes including five players a side, shorter quarters, power plays and super shots
