England bounce back to defeat Malawi

England have claimed their biggest ever Fast5 netball win over Malawi to bounce back from their earlier defeat at the hands of New Zealand.

Malawi’s inaccuracy in front of goal continued, as England made the most of their opportunities in the 43-22 victory.

England stormed out of the blocks, shooting at a high percentage led by Joanne Harten to lead by six points at the first break.

Malawi found it hard to work their way back into the contest after some inaccurate shooting, with England continuing to assert their dominance to take a seven-point lead into the main break.

Despite dominating early in the third quarter, the African nation could not make the most of their momentum as England ended the quarter on top extending their lead to nine points.

England made the most of their power play as they claimed a 21 point win, with their score of 43 their highest Fast5 score against Malawi.

England shooter Kadeen Corbin praised her side for their impressive start.

“We really wanted to start off really well with our shots just trying to settle in every single shooter and once that happened we just kept driving that bus all the way,” Cobin said.

England’s victory sees them claimed the biggest win of the competition so far.
